I'm moving on with my drawing and have started doing some faces.  I don't know what to call the style... it's not Manga and it's not life drawing.  Little cartoon ladies?  I don't know.  They remind me of paper dolls, especially if I dress them in scrapbook paper dresses that I made. Whatever. I draw them and collage and then open my art box and throw everything at them.  haha. I have lots to learn but so far, I'm loving how they are turning out. It's SO FREAKING EXCITING to me, like a rock concert, but quieter. Anyway. I hope I can stay focused enough to improve this skill.  I always seem to go ... so far... and then I move onto another

I think I've found a new medium to adore and it's pastels!!  I was introduced to them at my drawing class and I just clicked with them. I had a plan today to draw a peacock feather as soon as I dropped my youngest at school and as I set out my stuff, my heart was totally pounding with excitement.  They are so amazing and tactile and I love the velvety texture when you smudge them. Oh My God.  I am really excited by the way the picture turned out.  It took me 2 hours almost to the minute to complete it.  I barely had time to put everything down and go and pick up my little boy. I'm always trying something new and I'm still trying to find my style. I have made beaded art dolls, mini hand stitched art quilts, cards, scrap booking, ATC's.  Lots of different things.  I call myself a Jack of All Trades but Master of None. I've dabbled with a lot of things BUT I haven't drawn anything since the beginning of High School. I used to love drawing when I was a kid and drew all the time.  I loved Art class.  When I started High School at age 13, my father (who wanted me to leave school the following year) would not let me take any art classes (saying they were useless) and made me take Technical Drawing instead.  I hated it.

Thenk you for the Watching!
Welcome to DA! I'm greatly enjoying your beaded dolls. I've always wanted to try that but it's a bit intimidating. ^^v
You know, you shouldn't let that stop you. I think you'd make an awesome bead artist! Most of the time you start by just embellishing a little and see if you can stop! It's quite addicting.

I'm always ready to be a bead art pusher - so if you want any tutorial links etc, let me know. Muahahaha
